Striped Lizard North Carolina. Lizards of south carolina and georgia. This species may be found on the ground or in trees and is often common in dry, wooded habitats where there are an abundance of fallen trees and stumps to hide in.
Green frogs pluck banjo strings while fowler’s toads add their rhythmic singsong. This lizard is highly variable in color and pattern, depending upon the age and sex of an individual. North carolina is home to 12 species of lizards (order squamata, suborder lacertilia), none of which are dangerous.
